School Rules
Schools have rules. Pupils who break rules are punished. Some teachers use the cane. This is called corporal punishment. Some people agree with corporal punishment. Others do not. Read this newspaper cutting.

It shows what 1000 Scottish children think.

What are your school rules?
How are pupils in your school punished?
Are the punishments fair?

One way to find the answers to these questions is to ask everyone in the class. This is a SURVEY.

We use a QUESTIONNAIRE to make sure that everyone answers the same questions.

Here are two questions for a survey of school rules.

'How many school rules have you broken?'
'Do you think corporal punishment should be allowed?'
